1. WHAT IS CARSIL SOPHARMA?
CARSIL SOPHARMA is a medicinal product that contains the drug substance silymarin isolated from the fruit of the white thistle plant. Silymarin activates protein and phospholipid synthesis in damaged liver cells, stabilizes cell membranes, binds free radicals (antioxidant action). Its main effect is to protect liver cells from the harmful effects of various factors such as alcohol, drugs, viral infections, industrial contaminants. In the case of liver cell damage, it helps to restore them more quickly.
It is used for the symptomatic treatment of chronic toxic liver lesions; for maintenance treatment in patients with chronic inflammatory liver disease and hepatic cirrhosis.
CARSIL SOPHARMA is used for:
chronic hepatitis of non-viral origin;
fatal degeneration of the liver;
in complex therapy of hepatic cirrhosis;
for prophylaxis of hepatic impairment with prolonged intake of drugs, alcohol, chronic intoxication (including professional).
2. BEFORE YOU TAKE CARSIL SOPHARMA
Do not use Carlillif you are allergic (hypersensitive) to the active substance or any of the other ingredients of the medicine; in children under 12 years of age.
Take special care with Carsil if you have a condition associated with hormonal disorders (endometriosis, uterine fibroids, breast cancer, ovarian and uterine carcinoma, prostate carcinoma), it is necessary to consult a specialist before starting treatment with Carsil, due to the possible estrogen-like effect of silymarin.
CARSIL SOPHARMA & Taking other medicines
Please tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking or have recently taken any other medicines, including medicines obtained without a prescription. Carsil may reduce the effectiveness of oral contraceptives and medicines that are used in hormone replacement therapy. It may increase the effects of drugs such as diazepam, alprazolam, ketoconazole, lovastatin, vinblastine in concomitant use.
CARSIL SOPHARMA & Pregnancy and breastfeeding
Ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking any medicine.
During pregnancy and lactation, Carsil can only be used for medical purposes and if the benefit to the mother outweighs the risk of using the product for the fetus.
CARSIL SOPHARMA & Driving and using machines
CARSIL SOPHARMA does not adversely affect the ability to drive and use machines.
Important information about some of Carsil’s ingredients
The medicinal product contains whey starch as an excipient and may pose a danger to people with celiac disease (gluten enteropathy).
CARSIL SOPHARMA contains lactose. Not suitable for patients with lactase deficiency, galactose, or glucose/galactose malabsorption syndrome.
3. HOW TO TAKE CARSIL SOPHARMA
Adults and children over 12 years of age
Treatment of severe hepatic impairment begins with a dose of 1 capsule 3 times a day.
For lighter and moderate cases the dosage is 1 capsule 1-2 times a day.
For prophylaxis of chemical intoxications – 1-2 capsules daily.
The course of treatment lasts not less than 3 months.
Children under 12 years of age
There is insufficient clinical data on use in children.
If you take more than the necessary dose
Carsil If you have taken a dose greater than prescribed, ask your doctor.
If you forget to take CARSIL SOPHARMA
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as possible. If it’s almost time for the next dose, take it as usual. Do not take a double dose to make up for the forgotten. Continue to take the medicine as prescribed.

4. POSSIBLE CARSIL SOPHARMA SIDE EFFECTS
Like all medicines, CARSIL SOPHARMA can cause side effects, although not everyone gets them.
Carsil has good tolerance. Rarely, in individual cases and with individually increased sensitivity, side effects such as digestive disorders, diarrhea; in single cases – skin rash and itching; very rarely, it is possible to exacerbate existing vestibular disorders (nausea, dizziness). Adverse reactions are transient and pass after discontinuation of the product.

Store in the original package in order to protect from light and moisture.
Store below 25 ° C.
Keep out of the reach of children!
Do not use Carsil after the expiry date which is stated on the carton. The expiry date refers to the last day of that month.
Medicines should not be disposed of via wastewater or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of your unnecessary medicines. These measures will help to protect the environment.

What CARSIL SOPHARMA contains
Each capsule contains 163.6 – 225 mg dry extract of white thistle (Silybi Mariani Fructus) (35-50: 1), eq. of 90 mg silymarin, such as Silylbumin (HPLC).
The other ingredients are lactose monohydrate, microcrystalline cellulose, wheat starch, povidone K25, polysorbate 80; colloidal anhydrous silica; mannitol, crospovidone, sodium hydrogen carbonate, magnesium stearate.
